Maleficent

Maleficent is a fictitious character created in Walt Disney's movie Sleeping Beauty in 1959. She is a compelling fairy who lives in Moors, and in adolescence falls in love with Stefan (a human peasant boy). However, Stefan betrays her to capture the throne which ruins Maleficent.

She forms a dark tyrannical kingdom with Diaval as her one associate. The queen of Moor and Mistress of Evil comes to know about the newborn princess Aurora (daughter of King Stefan). Filled with hatred and revenge, Maleficent arrives uninvited to the royal christening and curses the newborn princess: on her sixteenth birthday before the sun sets, she will prick her finger on the spindle of a spinning wheel and die.

Frightened by the curse, Stefan pleads for his daughter. Fairy Merryweather, who had some powers, diminishes the curse so that Aurora will go to a deep slumber instead. Maleficent then offers a caveat – only a true loves kiss could awaken her.

Maleficent watches over Aurora grow in grace and beauty from afar and after fifteen years, realizes that she has grown fond of the princess. She attempts to revoke the curse but is unsuccessful. Aurora later falls in love with Prince Philip. On her 16^th birthday, the curse starts taking affect on Aurora. Maleficent kidnaps Phillip and infiltrates Stefan's castle to have him kiss Aurora, but his romantic kiss had no effect. Maleficent breaks down and kisses her forehead, which causes Aurora to awaken. The movie then moves to a happy ending.

One of the hottest couple in America, Brangelina (Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie) finally got some time to enjoy a romantic date in West Hollywood on Saturday, June 28, 2014 after arduous promotion of Maleficent. Angelina is in a light mood after the grand success of her Disney movie Maleficent, which earned more than $520 million in worldwide box offices sales last weekend. The movie inspired by Sleeping Beauty is the debut film of their five year old daughter Vivienne.

Angelina and her fiance Brad were spotted alone without their six children. Angelina recently returned from Japan after the Japanese premiere of the the movie, which has become her highest earning movie of all time beating $478.2 million Mr. & Mrs. Smith latched in 2005. After enjoying a dinner at Ago Restaurant owned by Robert De Niro, the glamorous couple held hands while moving out of a side entrance amid some plants to their car.

Angelina, the queen of monochrome styling, was looking stunning in her black dress with loose sleeves, while Brad was clean shaved in a white shirt with a khaki cap and sunglasses. Angelina is working on her next directorial project Unbroken, and hopes to get the same response as Maleficent.

PSLV-C23 successfully launched by ISRO

Monday, June 30, 2014 is an historic day for India's space capability. At 09:52 AM, ISRO successfully launched PSLV-C23 from the First Launch Pad in Satish Dhawan Space Centre at the spaceport of Sriharikota (a barrier island of the Bay of Bengal coast in Andhra Pradesh) in presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. After a perfect launch, PSLV-C23 placed all the five foreign satellites in their orbit during 17^th to 19^th minute with a unimaginable precision.

The Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle PSLV-C23 carried five satellites from four different countries France, Germany, Canada and Singapore and had a total payload of 765 kg. The French Earth Observation Satellite SPOT-7 was its main payload weighing 714 kg, AISAT of Germany weighed 14 kg, NLS7.1 (CAN-X4) and NLS7.2 (CAN-X5) of Canada weighed 15 kg each, while VELOX-1 of Singapore weighed only 7 kg.

The presence of the Prime Minister thrilled the scientists and filled them with enthusiasm. The PM congratulated the scientists for a successful launch and said that it was a global endorsement of India's space capability. He urged Indian space scientists to develop a satellite for SAARC nations make the Indian Navigation System functional by 2015. He said ISRO to focus on developing capabilities to launch heavier satellites.

This was a commercial launch to respect the contract that ISRO's commercial subdivision ANTRIX entered into with respective foreign agencies. According to Madhvan Nair (former ISRO chairman) PSLV-C23 launch has proven to be one of world’s most reliable space launch vehicle. ISRO has successfully launched 35 satellites from 19 countries.

Messi, a documentary from the renowned Spanish director Alex de la Iglesia will premiere on Wednesday, July 2, 2014 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. It is produced by Mediapro and scheduled in such a way that it is premiered during the FIFA World Cup 2014 tournament on an off day.

The documentary is scripted by one of Argentina's greatest soccer star Jorge Valdano, and uses historical footage of the only four-time FIFA/Ballons d'Or winner from the age of 4 onwards. Clinton: The Musical

The New York Musical Theatre Festival (NYMF), which is an annual three-week fall festival usually presents more than thirty new musicals. 'Clinton: The Musical' is one of the thirty musicals and is finalized to make its New York stage premiere as part of the festival.

The musical comedy imagines two Bill Clintons - one rough and tough individual from Arkansas, while the other a beloved president of the people. The cast of characters includes well-known personalities from Clinton's White House tenure, including Hillary Rodham Clinton, Al Gore, Kenneth Starr and, Monica Lewinsky.

The show runs from July 18 to 25 at the Pershing Square Signature Center. Paul Hodge and Michael Hodge are the lyricist, which follows “two Bill Clintons and Hillary on their quest to save their presidency, change America and prove that 'politics is show business for ugly people'”.

The musical was premiered at 2012 Edinburgh Festival Fringe, where it was nominated for best new musical. It was also played at London`s King`s Head Theatre the next year.

Mister World 2014 at The Riviera International Conference Centre, England

Mister World 2014, was held on June 15, 2014 at The Riviera International Conference Centre, Torbay, Devon, England. Nicklas Pedersen of Denmark was announced the winner and was crowned by Francisco Escobar of Colombia (Mister World 2013) in the 8th edition of the Mister World pageant.

Nicklas Pedersen is a 23 year old qualified carpenter from Brondby, a suburb of Copenhagen, Denmark. He wants to launch his own Carpentry Firm, and would also like to try his hands in acting.

He defeated 45 contestents including India's Prateik Jain, who managed to claim the 6th spot.

Nigeria's Emmanuel Ikubese (actor) was declared the first runner up. He is an actor and well known for starring in the award winning MTV series Shuga.

Mexico's José Pablo Minor (actor) was declared the second runner up.

Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge and wife of Prince William, in an online poll has been crowned the Queen of Wedding Dresses for the gown she wore in her wedding in 2011 at Westminster Abbey.

Kate Middleton's wedding gown which was designed by Alexander McQueen`s Sarah Burton and inspired by Grace Kelly claimed the first spot in the survey. The Givency Haute Couture dress of Kim Kardashian for her wedding with Kanye West claimed the second spot.
